Greetings Cazenovia Ski Club Members,
Despite the onset of another beautiful central New York Summer it goes without saying that our hearts and minds are never far from our beloved ski club and the exciting prospect of the looming 2004/05 season. Accordingly, the ski club board of directors has begun the implementation of several exciting new initiatives (all of which were approved at the annual meeting in May) as follows:
1) We are excited to announce that the Infrastructure Improvement Initiative (I.I.I.) is now under way!! The I.I.I. consists of three separate infrastructure improvement projects that promise to bolster the ski club's infrastructure capabilities and provide a more consistently reliable skiing experience. Specifically, the club will invest roughly $20,000 to $25,000 of it's accumulated capital improvement fund into T-bar repair, a reliable snowmobile, and a permanent "fix" for the weathered paws of the mad cat. The T-bar repairs should go a long way toward preventing those pesky derailments that have too frequently interrupted beautiful ski days. A reliable snowmobile will solve the heretofore problematic issue of shuttling personnel to and from the "summit". Finally, more reliable paws for the mad cat will ensure that the high-traffic trails are consistently groomed for your cruising pleasure. These improvements will be complete prior to the onset of the upcoming season.
2) Along side the I.I.I., we are pleased to announce the "five-year plan", which will allow five member families (first come first served) to purchase their next five ski seasons up front for a 10% discount. So, for example, If your dues for the upcoming season are $500, you'll be able to pay $2,250 to cover all of your dues through the 2008-09 ski season. The five-year plan offers several distinct advantages for would-be participants. First is the 10% discount. Second is the ability to lock in this season's rates for the next five years. Third, you'll help the club replenish its coffers which will have fallen slightly below recent equilibrium levels after the completion of the I.I.I. And finally, (and most importantly) you'll be making an investment in the future of the ski club as our enhanced infrastructure will most certainly help us in our efforts at recruiting new members.
3) We are working on a handful of new ideas and themes that seek to broaden the scope of our social programs. This is very much a work in progress and any and all suggestions from interested members are welcome. At this point, we can envision at least three new (or revitalized) initiatives as follows:
4) The new membership drive will return this year backed by popular demand. Get a 20% discount off of this coming season's dues for each new member family that you recruit!! (as with last year, discounts are only applicable to dues that have not been previously discounted). If you recruit five new members this season, you ski free!
