Dear Fellow Members:
Despite the lack of June snow, your Cazenovia Ski Club is working hard to prepare the hill and infrastructure for what will be a fantastic 2007/08 season.
As announced at the spring annual meeting; Your Toilets are Coming! Running water will flow beginning this season. Pond-fed, non-potable water will enhance the ski club experience for generations to come. If heated bathrooms and flushing toilets are not enough, the glow over Rathbun Road will be much brighter this year. We are pleased to announce that your Cazenovia Ski Club will embark on a lighting improvement project. The project includes new lights and improved positioning to provide better hill coverage. This will now put us in a position to expand our night skiing operations and hours. Some members have generously donated to help subsidize costs of these new flushing and lighting marvels, please feel free to donate additionally yourself.
With a heavy emphasis on infrastructure improvements that will ensure our positive future, we are forced to pass on a modest dues increase of 5% to all members. In addition, we are strongly encouraging members to review the current member dues schedule. Early payments will ensure the best value for Cazenovia Ski Club. We feel confident that our new dues structure is still the best value in Central New York. By comparison, families will pay 20% less than early season discount rates at other local ski areas. This chart represents members with over 3 year’s tenure; newer members will continue to pay less. This dues increase is the first increase in over 10 years. The Board of Directors of the Ski Club feels that to continue to provide the best skiing in Central New York, we need to improve our product.
Recruiting new members continues to be paramount to growing our club. We will continue to offer a 20% reduction on your dues for signing up new members. We will also continue to fund weekend deck parties as a subsidy to our busy Ski Club social calendar.
Work parties will begin this fall, and there will be many projects. The expectation is that every member contributes at least 4 hours at a work party. Please get involved; you are a shareholder, it’s your club.
