The following
events are planned at the ski club.
| December 5th | A Little Merrymaking Please join us for some holiday cheer on Saturday December 5th at 6:30pm 'til whenever in the newly remodeled A-Frame. Please, BYOB and an appetizer to pass. |
| January 16th | It's A Fiesta Break out your sombreros and maracas. And join us 'south of the ridge' for our own fiesta hosted by the Walshes and Aronsons. |
| January 23rd | 'Hot Dog' Deck Party Break out your retro ski wear from the 70's for our 'Hot Dog' deck party hosted by Doug Falso and Russ Brownback. And for those of you who need a refresher on the term 'Hot Dog' Definition: to perform unusual or very intricate maneuvers in a sport, esp. surfing or skiing to perform in a recklessly or flamboyantly skillful manner, as in a sport or athletic activity; show off. So dust off your jeans and wool sweaters, mirrored sunglasses, cowboy or pompom hats and bibs. We'll see you on the slopes and the deck. |
| January 30th | Annual Chili Cook-Off Enter the "hotly" contested race for the Club's best chili recipe and cornbread. Join us on the deck around 1:00 pm to show-off your cooking talents or sample the competition. Prizes will be awarded for the best chili and cornbread. There will be guest judging by members and the event will be hosted by Alexis Ellis and Sue Woltman. |
| February 6th | Mad Matt's Phat Daddy Deck Party Celebrate Mardi Gras, Caz Ski Club style. Pat O'Brien Hurricanes and home made Jambalaya will don the deck for some Creole flair and Cajun fun! Hosted by the Willis' |
| February 14th | Tele You Love Me On Valentine's Day, fall in love with a sport that's perfect for the terrain at the Caz Ski Club or improve your skills if you've already been bitten by the tele lovebug. Barbara Brooks has arranged for this tele clinic at the Club, with the help of students and staff from Colgate Outdoor Ed and the Hamilton College Outdoor Leadership Program. They will be offering a Telemark Clinic and demos on Sunday February 14th. Reservations needed for gear. Gear can be picked up at 11. Lessons will begin by 11:30 and will end by 3 pm. Novice, beginner and intermediate skiers can be accommodated. To reserve a spot for instruction, contact: Abby Rowe at amrowe@colgate.edu with your skill level, height, weight and mondo boot size. | February 27th | 2010 Olympics Celebrate the 2010 Olympics in true Ski Club fashion. An All Club fun race will be held for kids young and old, so get your cowbells warmed up. On the menu cuisines and beers from around the world, as presented by your hosts the Dungey, Koennecke, McDonald & Wester Families. And we'll be looking for your finest patriotic wear. Prizes to be awarded for the best red, white and blue. Vancouver's got nothing on us! |
| Saturday March 6th | Dinosaur Barbeque Night An annual night of skiing and barbeque that's always a blast! Appetizers: 6:00-7:00 Dinner: 7:00 Cost: $20.00 per person (checks can be made payable to Caz Ski Club and acts as your reservation. | March 13th | End of the Season Bash Is there a better way to end the season? Back by popular demand deep fried and smoked turkey and live entertainment. Hosted by the Cobbs and Stevens |
| TBA | Crazy Hat Day Contest and Deck Party LOOKING FOR A HOST Show your friends your hidden personality with your creative headgear! Most creative entries will be feted at the deck party following the contest. |
| TBA | Spring Party Have you forgotten what your friends look like without their goggles? Now is the time to reconnect and start planning for next year's fun at this casual cookout party hosted by the Club and Board. |
| October | Annual Clambake Clams, hot dogs, and burgers are the fare of the day and prepared by the Club's own Will Verbeck. Kids and adults can frolic on the hill with the many games and activities such as the pie-eating contest, egg toss, candy hunt, and more! |
